We caught up with student Jessica Regan to find out more about studying BA (Hons) Fashion Photography at Leeds Arts University...

Why did you choose Leeds Arts University?

I chose Leeds Arts University because of the amazing facilities and Leeds as a city. There's a lot going on in Leeds with plenty of other students and opportunities for street casting.

What made you select BA (Hons) Fashion Photography?

I chose to study Fashion Photography after developing a documentary style in my earlier photography work. After meeting the lecturers and students at Leeds Arts University and seeing the photography resource, I felt excited about the idea of the course and the different aspects of Fashion Photography it covered.

What do you really enjoy about your course and the University?

I really like the amount of contact time I get with my lecturers as well as the welcoming atmosphere at Leeds Arts University. I also like that we get given opportunities to go and see different relevant fashion/fashion photography events and exhibitions. The trips to London Fashion Week and other exhibitions have been amazing experiences.

What do you plan to do after university?

After university, I want to keep collaborating and maybe develop more moving image work. I'm also interested in shooting editorial and making publications.

What makes Leeds a good place to study?

There are plenty of things to do in Leeds and it is easy to meet and socialise with other students in the city. There’s loads of art spaces, pubs, clubs, events and restaurants where you can meet new people!
