Students impress ahead of Graduate Fashion Week

BA (Hons) Fashion Design, BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing and BA (Hons) Fashion Photography student are set to impress at Graduate Fashion Week 2025 after being shortlisted for multiple prizes.

Graduate Fashion Week (GFW) is a prestigious annual event showcasing the next generation of fashion talent. Held every June at the Truman Brewery in London, it brings together over 3,000 graduating students from 26 different fashion disciplines. GFW serves as a vital platform for emerging designers to present their work to thousands of guests, including industry professionals and media, acting as an important bridge between education and employment.

Students from our BA (Hons) Fashion Design, BA (Hons) Fashion Photography and BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing courses are already making an impact with invitations to participate in catwalk shows, award nominations and exhibitions.

Designs by Leeds Arts University BA (Hons) Fashion Design students Ozde Duran and Daisy Budianta were used in the Graduate Fashion Foundation annual Talent of Tomorrow photoshoot. BA (Hons) Fashion Photography students Bella Campling and Alice Turner worked as stylists on the shoot.

BA (Hons) Fashion Design students Clem Hankin and Mimi Alan have been selected for GFW catwalk shows, with Clem’s collection showing on the Menswear Catwalk and Mimi’s on the Debenhams Catwalk to Commercial Runway show. Daisy Budianta, Charlie Brown, Sam Brown, and Aine Loughnane have also been selected to take part in the GFW Collective Show, in person and live-streamed on Monday 16 June at 10:30am.

Students from our three undergraduate fashion courses have also been shortlisted for a number of awards.

The following BA (Hons) Fashion Design students have been shortlisted for awards:

  • Sam Brown – Creative Pattern Cutting and Fashion Innovation Award

  • Grace Tailby – Childrenswear Award

  • Ozde Duran – Sportswear and Leisurewear Award

  • Aine Loughnane – The Hillary Alexander Sustainable Trailblazer Collection Award

  • Alicia Glen – The Face Prize and Culture and Heritage Award

  • Reed Washington – Accessories Award

  • Floss Tuppen – New Business Award

The following BA (Hons) Fashion Photography students have been shortlisted for awards:

  • Phoebe Jacob – Fashion Photography Award

  • Alice Turner – Moving Image Award and Fashion Styling and Creative Direction Award

  • Franco Amponsah Duah – Moving Image Award

  • Aran Llewelyn Harris  - Culture and Heritage (Non Design) Award 

The following BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing students have been shortlisted for awards:

  • Keeley Ball - New Business Award

GFW takes place from 13–16 June 2025 at the Truman Brewery, London, where BA (Hons) Fashion Design and BA (Hons) Fashion Photography students will showcase their work.

The category award winners will be announced throughout the event, with awards presented at the Best of Graduate Fashion Week event on Monday 16 June.
