Rachel Kelly, Award Winning Designer
Rachel undertook her undergraduate degree in BA (Hons) Printed Textile & Surface Pattern Design at Leeds Arts University and Design and gained an MA in Design for Textile Futures from Central St Martin’s University of Art and Design, London. Rachel now runs her own award winning design business Interactive Wallpaper™.
In her practise, Rachel has embraced the opportunities presented by emerging web technology to sell and market her work and develop her interactive design practice and business. A wide range of commissions have established Rachel’s profile as a designer whose client profile ranges from multinational companies, public bodies such as the BBC and NHS, to boutique hotels, restaurants, bars and private homes. Rachel’s original wallpaper and stickers won her Young Designer of the Year Award and are still best sellers.
She has exhibited and sold work internationally in galleries in New York, Paris, Munich, Tokyo and London, where she lived and worked for over a decade before relocating her successful business to the heart of the English Lake District. From here, Rachel creates and manufactures her work and runs specialist wallpaper, textile and surface design courses.
Rachel also teaches on the undergraduate programme Textiles in Practice at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Her work has been collected privately and sits within collections such as the print and paper archive of the V&A and The Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester
