Graduating students from BA (Hons) Fashion Design will showcase their work at Graduate Fashion Week 2022 (GFW), giving them the opportunity to impress industry professionals and build contacts for their future careers.
Fashion Design and Fashion Photography students have already impressed the organisers with three award nominations and several catwalk show selections, all taking place at the event at Coal Drops Yard from 20 – 24 June.
Fashion Design students Geordie Campbell–Harris, and Andrew Kirkbride were all selected to take part in the opening night catwalk show as part of a VIP event organised by GFW ambassadors. Jade Hong Tran, Jaden Nicholson, Joe Ingham and Eve Sheppard will show work from their collections on the catwalk as part of the Graduate Fashion Week Collective show on Thursday 23 June at 1pm to a live audience and via live stream, available to watch here.
Award nominations have gone to Chinab Narang, Fashion Design for the Concept Award, Safa Rasib for the Culture and Heritage Award, and Ruby Styles, Fashion Photography for the Fashion Photography Award. The students have been selected from 100’s of graduating students from over 40 universities. Nominees have the opportunity to present their work to a panel of industry experts, and attend talks and CV workshops. Winners will be announced at an awards presentation event on Thursday 23 June.
Safa Rasib has also been selected to participate in the GFW x FMA Diversity and Inclusion Dome showcase, attended by press and industry also taking place on Thursday 23 June. Her collection Pakistani Baroque' is a visual demonstration of the British Pakistani identity that reflects on two culture’s intertwining history. Using the Baroque era as a representation of British culture and drawing inspiration from architecture, print and interior decoration. She has been selected to participate in the GFW x FMA Diversity and Inclusion Dome showcase, attended by press and industry also taking place on Thursday 23 June.
Graduate Fashion Week is an annual showcase of students graduating from 26 different fashion disciplines. Held every June, GFW attracts thousands of guests with a packed schedule of catwalk shows, university exhibitions, talks, masterclasses and workshops from leading names in the fashion and retail industry. It represents the future of creative design talent and showcases the work of over 3500 of the very best fashion graduates each year.
