Ellie Radford, second-year BA (Hons) Textile Design student was announced as the outright winner of a live brief set by Bruntwood, a family-owned property company offering office space, serviced offices, retail space and virtual offices.
Students were asked to create a range of rug designs to be used in the new community hub space in Bruntwood’s redevelopment of West Village, a complex of 1970’s brick buildings located on Wellington Street, Leeds.
Along with winning prize money of £650, Ellie will now have the opportunity to work with Bruntwood and the rug manufacturer to see her designs developed through to production. The judges selected two runners up, Amy Carr, who won a prize of £150 and Robyn Jones who was awarded £50. However, they were so impressed with Amy’s designs they will also be taking one of these through to production.
