BA (Hons) Textile Design

BA (Hons) Textile Design graduate Beth Lingard picked up not one, but three awards at this year’s Tex+ Showcase!

Beth Lingard, who recently graduated from the University’s BA (Hons) Textile Design degree course, was recognised for her exceptional creativity and commercial potential, winning The Sanderson Art in Industry Prize, The Sahara Prize and The Pattern Cloud Prize.

The Sahara Prize was presented by owner Suzy Coppersmith Heaven who awarded Beth a £500 cash prize, the opportunity for Sahara to purchase a design piece and a one-month placement at Sahara in Primrose Hill, London. The Sanderson Art in Industry Prize was a £500 awarded given to Beth for her commercial and market potential. The Pattern Cloud Prize, awarded by Tracey Brown, gives Beth one year of free access to the Pattern Cloud graduate plan.

The awards were presented at the TEX+ Showcase Private View in London, held at Chelsea College of Arts, and attended by industry legends including Orla Kiely, Zandra Rhodes, and world-renowned trend forecaster Lidewij Edelkoort. Beth was one of just 25 recent graduates invited to the Tex+ Showcase, alongside fellow graduate Sian Barratt.

“It was brilliant to see our amazing graduates Sian Barratt and Beth Lingard showcase their portfolios at Tex+. It was a fantastic experience, which connected them with wide range of industry professionals who offered generous advice, support, and insight. We are so impressed with both of them, but particularly Beth who went home with an incredible three awards! We’re so proud of her continued success and well-deserved recognition. We’re excited to see where Sian and Beth head next in their creative journeys.”
