Work by BA (Hons) Creative Advertising (now BA (Hons) Marketing Communications) student Holly Prosser is the latest to be installed in The Artist’s Window in Leeds city centre.

The Artist’s Window competition brief is part of a long-standing partnership with property investment and development business MEPC. Students are asked to submit designs to be exhibited in the windows of buildings on Wellington Place. Alongside the opportunity to showcase their work, winning students each received £1000 on completion of their commission.

The second installation ‘September’ has been created by second year BA (Hons) Creative Advertising student Holly Prosser. Based on long autumn walks that Holly used to take when she first arrived in Leeds, the piece depicts prominent buildings from across the city, including the Corn Exchange, and uses golden shades to represent the Autumn season.

“We’re excited to start a brand-new year with a new window installation at 11 Wellington Place. It really is a fantastic piece of art, that depicts how wonderfully diverse the buildings across the city are. With its warming colours it’s certain to brighten up the day of those visiting and working here, this January.”

Dominique Murray, Marketing Manager and Head of Customer Cxperience at MEPC

Five winning artists were selected from submissions across all courses, with work ranging from painting and photography to sculpture. Four of the art installations will be on display in the window of the recently completed 11 Wellington Place for three months on a rotational basis. Holly is the second artist selected, with MA Illustration student Emma Jones being the first to exhibit.

“The Artist Window initiative has been an excellent opportunity to have my work displayed to a wider audience beyond the university setting. It’s exciting to have my work showcased at such a highly visited site as Wellington Place, and it’s something I’m very proud of.”
