Beth Daborn and Harry Brian who recently graduated from BA (Hons) Textile Design in 2023 collaborated with New Designers and Habitat UK to create the designs for a number of greetings cards. These cards can now be purchased in a Sainsbury's store near you.

New Designers is the UK’s leading platform for design talent, featuring the work of over 3,000 talented graduates from the UK’s leading universities. The show gives graduates the opportunity to promote their work to an audience from across the design industry at the Business Design Centre, London.

The relationship between Leeds Arts University and New Designers has been massively important to my current successes following graduation. Having the opportunity to showcase at ND in June has directly connected me with the brands I dreamt of working with throughout my final year of studies. Having the platform to speak to and impress the people within industry is so valuable at establishing your own name and gaining interest for them to possibly work with you. If given the opportunity, undoubtably worth participating! I am now working as a freelance illustrator/surface pattern designer, and since New Designers, I have worked on some amazing collaborations with varied high street names.

On the back of working and collaborating with New Designers and Habitat UK, Beth has since started a graduate print design job at TU Clothing. Both Beth and Harry have done extremely well from New Designers and the Sainsbury's group.

Having the opportunity to display our work at New Designers was incredible! It gave us the opportunity to meet so many industry professionals and other designers, which then led to opportunities like this! I am also currently working as an Assistant Print Designer for Tu Clothing because I met the team at New Designers. The relationship between LAU and New Designers is so important and such an amazing experience to be a part of and I am very grateful I got to exhibit there!
