Marketing Communications graduates shortlisted for Young British Arrows

BA (Hons) Marketing Communications

BA (Hons) Creative Advertising (Now BA (Hons) Marketing Communications) graduates Ella Curtis and Emma Simpson have been shortlisted for Creative Team of the Year at the Young British Arrows.

The Young British Arrows awards are for emerging talent in the UK moving image advertising industry to give the next generation of creators an opportunity to gain exposure for their work.

The awards were launched in 2022 by the not-for-profit British Arrows, which have honoured the best campaigns and craft in British advertising for nearly 50 years.

Now in its fourth year, the awards are open to anyone with less than 3 years’ experience in their current role, and work can be submitted across 20 categories.

Ella and Emma currently work as a creative partnership for global creative agency Dentsu Creative and the project they were shortlisted for was Makita, Battery Powered Gardening Tool Range, Feel The Energy made for Dentsu Creative by You Are Here, Gate+, Stitch Editing, WH Sound and The Music Lab, directed by Joffery Jans.

"We’re ecstatic about our first ever awards shortlist, and the Young Arrows feels like a great one to get. Sometimes you get lost in imposter syndrome when you first enter a creative industry, but being shortlisted for Best Creative Team has really made us appreciate our journey and take a breather. Our Creative Advertising course (now Marketing Communications) really prepared us for the industry, allowing us to be hands on with briefs and be confident with our own creative opinions. I think it's really important to join a course that inspires you every day, gives you rich industry experience and has tutors that still champion you, even after you’ve left."
