Final year BA (Hons) Marketing Communications students have been taking their ideas off campus, visiting two leading creative agencies based in Manchester.
The students worked on the agencies' briefs over the two weeks, then took their ideas to the agencies to receive feedback. Their first pitch was to VML Health, where two students, Yesser Alkazaz and Abiola Agoro, were given two-week paid placements. The students presented a brief about menopause to a team that included BA (Hons) Creative Advertising (now BA (Hons) Marketing Communications) graduate Lydia Martin.
They then presented a passion project to Dentsu Creative, showcasing ideas from a board game to deal with the death of a friend, how kinetic energy on a dancefloor can generate power, and a special Duolingo feature on how to learn scouse.
It was a demanding two weeks for the students, who are nearing the end of their degree course, but they all rose to the challenge, showcasing their creativity and talent to industry professionals.
