TWENTY7 is as an exhibition of works by students studying on the MA Fine Art course, as part of an ongoing collaboration between the course, The Art House and Artwalk Wakefield.
The exhibition is being shown for one night only, as part of the Artwalk which takes place in venues across Wakefield. The name TWENTY7 is taken from the average time spent in front of a gallery work of 27 seconds. The exhibition is designed to challenge the viewer to reflect on how, and for how long you engage with artwork.
TWENTY 27 will be exhibited at The Art House, Wakefield on Wednesday 25 May from 5 – 7pm.
MA Curation Practice student Florence Hoy will also be participating in Artwalk Wakefield, hosting a live residency at the West Yorkshire History Centre. Florence will be there with a body of work created in response to the Anne Lister Diary Collection, inclluding Anne Lister merchandise created by Florence using the text and code found in the Anne Lister’s diaries. Florence will be at the West Yorkshire History Centre, Wakefield from 5pm – 7pm on Wednesday 25 May.
Artwalk Wakefield have also commissioned Foundation Diploma alumna Fiona Grady to create a site-responsive piece that is on display in the Ridings Shopping Centre, Wakefield. Meeting Points is composed of colourful geometric vinyl shapes installed onto the skylight windows of the shopping centre. They are on display until 27 July 2022.
