BA (Hons) Creative Advertising

Third year BA (Hons) Creative Advertising student wins gold at Two+Two 2023.

The 2023 event brief saw Two+Two partnering with Stockport Climate Action Now (CAN) team to tackle climate change. Students were first mentored by senior marketing professionals, and then got the opportunity to pitch their ideas directly to StockportCAN.

BA (Hons) Creative Advertising student Robbo Robinson (they/them/she) was part of the winning team which included students from four other northern universities. Robbo and the rest of their team will work with the APS Group and StockportCAN to develop their winning idea further.

Robbo says of their win:

"I’m buzzing my team managed to place gold, this years brief was really fun and it was a great day, it’s great that free events like this exist for young creatives. I’m excited to work with the guys from APS and Stockport council to work on the brief more, they’re a great team and really believe in the idea which is fab."

Other winning teams included:

BA (Hons) Creative Advertising student Neve Kinnear, whose team won 4th Place.

BA (Hons) Creative Advertising student Lucy Gibbons, whose team won 5th Place.

BA (Hons) Creative Advertising student Ella Curtis, whose team were Finalists.

Managing Director of Creative Resource, Julie Ollerton, said of the event: "Leeds Arts University have supported Two+Two since the first event in 2018 and the standard of contribution their students make to the event is always high. This was a very impressive year with 4 of their students in finalist teams and Robbo Robinson a very deserving member of the winning team.  I saw Robbo again last week when she came back to Stockport for the first part of the winners’ prize, spending a day in the Innovation Lab at the APS Group, working to further develop their idea."

Julia also noted:

"Leeds Arts students are always very well prepared and make the most of the full event day, learning from the industry mentors and networking.  They are a credit to the University and a testament to their tutors. We hope they will all develop the contacts they made at Two+Two."
