Graduates launch global campaign for NFL FLAG

BA (Hons) Marketing Communications

Ella Curtis and Emma Simpson, BA (Hons) Creative Advertising (now BA (Hons) Marketing Communications) graduates, have launched 'Be the Story', a new global campaign for NFL FLAG.

NFL FLAG is a high-paced, non-contact version of American football, and is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. With its Olympic debut at the 2028 Summer Olympic and the launch of a professional flag football league approaching, ‘Be the Story’ introduces a new generation of elite athletes onto the international stage, whilst welcoming new players to take up the sport.

Ella and Emma, were the creative leads on ‘Be the Story’ alongside their creative director at Dentsu Creative, and worked on the project from developing the initial pitch, pre-production, working on shoots for stills and film, to post-production across film, radio, web banners and socials.

The spot was shot in Atlanta, Georgia, with Ella and Emma taking inspiration from the sports recent rise to prominence to “show kids this is a sport where you can be whoever you want to be”, with the campaign inviting players to “become the thing everyone is talking about, smash through sporting stereotypes and take the spotlight in a sport that’s still being written”.

“We were thrilled to work on this campaign, it was a great experience to launch the look and feel for NFL FLAG globally, and loved working with a production agency (TimeBasedArts) on the craft of the titles and animations.”
