Jess West, a Creative Advertising (now BA (Hons) Marketing Communications) graduate, has worked on this year’s Christmas advert for Greggs. Jess filmed and worked with food writer and television cook, Nigella Lawson.
Jess is a Copywriter at Drummond Central, a marketing agency based in the North East. Drummond Central were commissioned to work with Nigella Lawson to create a ‘rapturous riot’ of a launch for the Greggs 2024 Christmas menu, which resulted in a humorous advert reminiscent of Nigella's legendary cooking shows.
"To launch the Festive Bakes for 2024, myself and my creative partner on the project, Abbie Malton, had the pleasure of combining two British icons – Greggs and Nigella Lawson. We crafted a whole range of concepts and it was settled that this year, rather than cooking up anything herself, Nigella would get to enjoy the Greggs Christmas Menu with a sprinkling of festive magic and playful innuendos."
Jess continued; "Along with the rest of the Drummond Central team, we worked closely with the client and talent to approve the scripts and storyboards, and on the shoot, made sure to capture everything we needed to review and approve for the final ads. Being a part of Greggs’ Christmas campaign has resulted in something I’m very proud of and seeing people’s reactions to it has been super exciting. Not to mention, watching Nigella in action was incredibly impressive, and yes, she is as lovely and as talented as she seems!"
