Entry Requirements

Portfolio

A strong portfolio of art/design work is required for all courses.

Foundation Diploma in Art & Design

Successful completion of the 高等学校卒業証書 (Kotogakko Sotsugyo Shomeisho - Upper Secondary School Leaving Certificate)

Plus IELTS for UKVI 5.0 with no component below 4.5 (IELTS for UKVI is the only test accepted by UK Visas & Immigration for entry to Further Education courses)

 

Undergraduate Degrees

Students completing the 高等学校卒業証書 (Kotogakko Sotsugyo Shomeisho - Upper Secondary School Leaving Certificate) will need to take an additional course before applying for an undergraduate degree at Leeds Arts University. This will usually be achieved by completing a recognised foundation course, such as our Foundation Diploma in Art & Design, or other comparable qualification.

Plus evidence of your English Language ability equivalent to IELTS 5.5 with no component less than 5.5. Please see English Language for details of accepted qualifications.

Postgraduate Degrees

A second class upper division honours degree or international equivalent; or a relevant professional qualification at an equivalent level, supported by a portfolio of work.

Candidates holding other academic qualifications will also be considered for admission provided they have substantial relevant professional experience and a portfolio of work.

For MA Creative Practice please include a proposal with your application outlining the area of practice you wish to develop, what you hope to achieve, a bibliography of books and resources you intend to use and the facilities and support you believe you will need.

Plus evidence of your English Language ability equivalent to IELTS 6.0
