Lizzie Harrison is a fashion designer, consultant, researcher and project manager focusing on sustainability. She is the founder and Creative Director of Antiform, a fashion company using reclaimed materials and mixing fashion forward shapes with heritage craft. She graduated from BA (Hons) Fashion in 2008.

Lizzie’s aim has been to work in the fashion industry in a more sustainable way. She founded her first shop ’25 Spaces’, supported by Unltd, in Hyde Park in Leeds while at university.

After graduating Lizzie went on to complete an MA in Fashion and Environment at London College of Fashion and worked on a research project ReMade in Leeds, founding the Leeds Community Clothes Exchange and the ReMade in Leeds boutique and workshop.

Antiform launched as a fully-fledged fashion label from a new studio in Leeds, becoming a limited company in 2015. The ethos of Antiform has always been to push the boundaries of ethical and sustainable design by using locally sourced reclaimed materials.

The business continues to grow and has now moved to new studio in Bristol where it is run by an experienced team of local designers, makers and researchers headed by Lizzie as Creative Director. As well as designing and making clothing they have a wealth of experience in sustainable fashion design, textiles upcycling and local fashion systems.

Lizzie has been teaching part time at the University of Bristol, University West of England, Royal College of Art and London College of Fashion as a specialist sustainability tutor and regularly give talks at conferences, covering everything from fashion sustainability to creative entrepreneurship.

The Antiform collection can be bought online where you can also see a list of their stockists.

We asked Lizzie what drives her work:

"I want to make fashion clothing but am not prepared to do this if it causes environmental or social problems. After years of talking about sustainability in fashion our sector is still growing so we need fashion businesses with radically new ideas to help make real change happen….."
