Eric Bainbridge (1955-present) studied at Leeds, Newcastle and London and graduated with an MA in sculpture from the Royal University of Art in 1981.  From 1989-91 he was Henry Moore Fellow at the Slade School of Art and in 1996 received the Paul Hamlyn Foundation prize for sculpture. Recent exhibitions have included a retrospective at mima, Middlesbrough in 2008, Galleria Caroline + Salvatore Ala, Milan, Italy, in 2009 and Modern British Sculpture at the Royal Academy, London in 2011.

William Neill is a wildlife and landscape artist based in South Uist, Western Isles of Scotland. He grew up in rural Cheshire before training at Leeds Arts University, followed by a postgraduate Art Teachers Certificate at Goldsmiths University London in 1967. He moved to South Uist in 1980, impressed by its flora, fauna, and vast skies. Neill maintains a Studio Gallery in Askernish, and predominantly works in watercolour and acrylic.

Janet Rawlins (1931-present) grew up in Horsforth in Leeds and studied for an NDD at Leeds Arts University from 1947-1952. Janet trained as an illustrator of children’s books and also carried out commissions for large scale machine-embroidered fabric collages. She exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy in the 1950s and 60s. For many years she produced drawings and cover paintings for Dalesman magazine. Janet draws her inspiration from the Yorkshire Dales where she lives and is best known for her landscapes in fabric collage and watercolour. 

deborah bowness graduated from Leeds Arts University in 1997 from BA (Hons) Printed Textiles & Surface Pattern Design and went on to graduate from the Royal University of Art with an MA in Constructed Textiles. deborah has been commissioned to design wallpapers for a wide variety of clients including Polydor, Lacroix, Reebok, Paul Smith and Selfridges. Her work is held in several national print collections including the V&A. Wallpapers by deborah bowness are printed by hand in a small factory on the south coast of England.

Ukrainian-born painter, Jacob Kramer studied at Leeds Arts University from 1907-191. He was one of the first artists in England to exhibit expressionist paintings in 1912 and a central figure of the Leeds Art Movement in the 1930s.

Stass Paraskos studied painting at Leeds Arts University between 1956 and 1958, returning to teach at the University in 1961. He went on to establish the first and only specialist Art University in Cyprus.

Laimonis Mierinš, Latvian artist and tutor, studied at Leeds Arts University from 1961-1964.  He returned to teach at the University in 1965 and continued to teach here until 1994. 

Patrick Hughes (b.1939) is a London-based surrealist artist who taught at Leeds Arts University from 1964 - 1969. He is the creator of "reverspective", an optical illusion on a 3-dimensional surface where the parts of the picture which seem farthest away are actually physically the nearest. 

Liz West (b.1985) studied for the Foundation Diploma at Leeds University, before attending Glasgow School of Art taking a BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art: Sculpture and Environmental Art. Since then she has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally. West has been recently been shortlisted for several awards including Aesthetica Art Prize (2016), Light Art Project of the Year at the Lighting Design Awards (2016) and  Best Light Art Installation at the Darc Awards (2015). 

Omar Kashoura studied the Foundation Diploma at Leeds Arts University from 1998-1999 before moving to London to study BA (Hons) Menswear Design at London University of Fashion and later the MA in Menswear at Central Saint Martins. In 2015 he was appointed Menswear Design Manager at Vivienne Westwood.

Lizzie Harrison studied for a BA in Fashion and Clothing at Leeds Arts University from 2005-2009.  She is now Creative Director of Antiform, and also works as a specialist sustainability tutor for SustainRCA at the Royal University of Art, and as a Research Assistant at London University of Fashion. 

Ian Hinchliffe studied BA (Hons) Visual Communication at Leeds Arts University from 2008-2011. He went on to complete the NCTJ Photojournalism course in Sheffield and was awarded the national Images of the Year award in the 2014 NCTJ Awards for Excellence. Ian now works as a freelance press photographer, and continues to photograph news, people and events for national newspapers, magazines and web sites.

Georgia Lucas-Going studied BA (Hons) Fine Art from 2007-2010 and returned to the University as a fellow in 2013. Georgia has worked with Basement Jaxx and as an Artists Assistant for fellow alumni Damien Hirst and Paul Fryer. In 2015 Georgia started her MFA in Fine Art at Slade School of Fine Art. She was given for a bursary by the Lee Alexander McQueen foundation and was chosen for the ICA New Contemporaries 2016.

Ralph Wallis worked as a technician and then lecturer in charge of photography at Leeds Arts University in the early 1960s. He set up darkrooms to provide photographic facilities for students. Wallis now resides in Canada. 

Rhian Kempadoo-Millar studied the HNC Millinery course at Leeds Arts University from 2008 - 2010. During this time she founded KEMPADOO MILLAR HEADWEAR, designing, manufacturing and selling flat caps that ‘honour traditional Northern style and adds a cool contemporary twist.’
