Research Fellow launches Rebel Selfie Competition

Research

The revolutionary #Rebel Selves Selfie App, designed to make selfies glitchy and fun, is now live! Created by artist Charlotte Roe from Huddersfield and Dr. Dawn Woolley, an artist and research fellow at Leeds Arts University who has won the accolade of The World’s Best Selfie from GQ magazine, this super popular new app is supported by Leeds Arts University and the Higher Education Innovation Fund.

Dr. Dawn Woolley researches the impact of social networking sites and selfies on self-esteem and body image. Recognizing the challenges posed by unattainable beauty standards, Dr. Woolley developed this app to creatively challenge these ideals and promote positive self-expression.

To celebrate the app's launch, Dr. Woolley is hosting the Release Your Inner Rebel Selfie Competition, looking out for the most creative and unconventional selfies produced using the app! How weird can you make yours?!
