Work by recent BA (Hons) Photography graduate Maisie Slater is the final piece to be exhibited at 11 Wellington Place in this series of the Artist’s Window.
The Artist’s Window competition brief is part of a long-standing partnership with property investment and development business MEPC. Students are asked to submit designs to be exhibited in the windows of buildings on Wellington Place. Alongside the opportunity to showcase their work, winning students each received £1000 on completion of their commission.
This final instalment in the Artist’s Window series, was created by recent graduate photography Maisie Slater. Maisie’s piece State of Flowers uses photography to frame the effects climate change will have on nature, and uses flowers submerged in different states of water to represent its impact including extreme weather and rising ocean levels.

Submissions to the brief were selected from all courses, with work ranging from painting and photography to sculpture. Over the past year, each installation has been on display in the window of 11 Wellington Place for three months on a rotational basis. Previously exhibiting were Emma Jones, BA (Hons) Creative Advertising (now Marketing Communications) Holly Prosser and BA (Hons) Visual Communication student Nicole Regine.
