BA (Hons) Illustration
Second year BA (Hons) Illustration students exhibited publications produced in response to the work of the Brontës.
The students were tasked with gaining an understanding of the lives of the Brontës, visiting the Brontë Parsonage Museum, and carrying out their own research into their lives and works.
Taking inspiration from their research, the museum and the surrounding landscape, the students created their own archive of publications and artists’ books to present their practical research.
Through their work, the students demonstrated how illustration can highlight and uncover historical people, archives, and places, and consider their impact today.
‘Gone Like Dreams’, their illustrated research projects, were exhibited in The Old School Room in Haworth, highlighting the students’ creative engagement with literary history and the lasting resonance of the Brontës’ legacy.
