Illustration student’s designs celebrate Women’s FA Cup

BA (Hons) Illustration

Grace Archer, a final year BA (Hons) Illustration student, was commissioned by INMOTION Collective to create designs to celebrate the Adobe sponsored Women's FA Cup.

INMOTION Collective, are a female-led creative agency in the world of sport. Their work aims to celebrate the joy of movement, and drive progress in the women’s game while addressing a lack of women represented in the creative industries.

For the commission, Grace was asked for two A2 designs, created using Adobe products, that would celebrate the rich history of women’s football, the breadth of teams involved and the diversity of players.

“I have always had a passion for football (having previously been a player myself for many years). Research is such an important part of the process. I was astonished by the growth of the game and the rich history of this competition in particular. I've learnt so much about the Women's FA Cup. I wanted to be sure I paid homage to the many incredible and unique (and sometimes funny) moments in the competition's history.”

Grace’s work was exhibited at Kit Couture: A Celebration of The AWFAC, an event held in London in April. The event included a fashion show, an exhibition of illustrations including Grace’s work, and an Adobe Creator Station where guests could create and print their own crests, all sound tracked by female DJs.
