Graphic Design and Photography students collaborate for Barnsley Zine Fair

BA (Hons) Graphic Design and BA (Hons) Photography students have collaborated on a project for Barnsley Zine Fair.

This was the fifth edition of the Barnsley Zine Fair, now one of the UK's biggest zine themed events of its kind. The event provides a platform for zine makers, artists, illustrators, photographers, and designers, showcasing the best of local and national talent.

Students from the University’s BA (Hons) Graphic Design and BA (Hons) Photography degree courses collaborated to develop a series of Risograph zines for the event.

The zines, collectively titled Recto/Verso, were each created using a single A3 sheet. Students were free to interpret and approach this constraint in their own way, resulting in a diverse range of outcomes.

Following on from the project, the two courses have recently established a student collective focused on photobooks, further strengthening collaboration between disciplines and supporting engagement with external events.
