Animation students win Royal Television Society Awards

BA (Hons) Animation students are celebrating their many fantastic wins at the Royal Television Society (RTS) Yorkshire Awards.

The RTS Student Television Awards encourage, nurture, support, and reward the talent, potential, and enthusiasm of students in colleges and universities for the creation of film and video content.

'Swim Free' by Siera Deshishku, Bonnie Wright, Evelyn Cheung, and Michael Dimsey won the Saving the Planet Category, and 'See You Later, Space Invader' by Ally Babbini-Baker, George Mead, Katie Holland, and Jenna Haldane won Entertainment and Comedy Drama.

Students from the course also won a variety of Craft awards, including:

Craft Award for Writing

• Georgina Oldknow – Girls at Uni

Craft Award for Production Design

• Siera Deshishku – 1 ROOM

• Olivia Stevens – Abby & Crabby

• Ally Babbini-Baker – See You Later Space Invader

• Katie Holland – See You Later Space Invader

As winners of their categories, 'Swim Free' and 'See You Later Space Invader' will now go forward to the National RTS Student Awards, which will be held in June this year.
