Women of Leeds Sculpture

Join us for the public launch event of the 'Ribbons' sculpture from 1:00pm-4:00pm on Saturday 12 October at Leeds Playhouse, Playhouse Square, Quarry Hill, Leeds LS2 7UP.

Nearly 400 inspirational Leeds women, voted for by members of the public, are being celebrated with a new sculpture in the heart of the city’s cultural quarter.

Created by artist, Pippa Hale, 'Ribbons' will be located at the top of the gardens between Leeds City College’s Quarry Hill campus and Leeds Playhouse at the gateway to the SOYO development at Quarry Hill, from October 2024.

You are invited to attend the launch for free activities including:

• Ribbons themed kids activities

• Meet the women from the Ribbons sculpture

• Learn about the making of Ribbons and meet the artist

• Performances

The nominated women can also have professional photographs taken with their families and the sculpture, digital copies will be emailed over after the event.
