Join us as Creative Networks and Thought Bubble join forces to bring you an evening in the company of the incredible Molly Knox Ostertag and ND Stevenson.
Creative Networks is Leeds Arts University's own major professional events programme. It’s a fantastic chance to meet other professionals and hear fascinating talks from industry leading speakers.
Molly and ND will be sharing the stage to discuss their careers, and give insight into the screen, animation and comic book industries.
ND is the creator of Netflix 2023 hit film Nimona, and the Netflix series Shera and The Princesses of Power by Dreamworks. He also co-created the incredible Lumberjanes comic book series. Molly Knox Ostertag is an award-winning cartoonist and writer of the graphic novels The Girl From The Sea, and The Witch Boy, which is soon to be an animated musical, also on Netflix.
They will be interviewed by Beth Duggleby, Course Leader for MA Illustration with Graphic Novel, and there will be an opportunity for questions from the audience.
About the speakers
Molly Knox Ostertag is the creator of the middle-grade graphic novel trilogy 'The Witch Boy', as well as the YA romance 'The Girl from the Sea' and the webcomic 'Darkest Night'. She's the writer of the 'Dungeon Club' series with collaborator Xanthe Bouma. She lives with her spouse ND Stevenson in Los Angeles, where she also writes for animated shows, including 'The Owl Club.'
ND Stevenson is a New York Times bestselling writer and cartoonist and the showrunner of Netflix's 'She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.' He is the author of National Book Award-nominated graphic novel 'Nimona' and the co-creator of the GLAAD-award winning comic series 'Lumberjanes', and has written and illustrated for Marvel and DC Comics. In animation, he has written for animated series including 'Wander Over Yonder', 'Bravest Warriors', 'DuckTales', and 'Big Hero Six.' He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Molly Ostertag.
