Inside Out

Co-curated by MA Fine Art students, Dr. David Steans and the Curatorial Team

B Gallery is one of Leeds Arts University’s many ancillary exhibition spaces, situated in the basement of Building 2, Blenheim Walk. From May 2023, Postgraduate Course Leader Dr. David Steans has tasked MA Fine Art students with taking temporary collective ownership of B Gallery. The catch: the students must present their practice-led research in the form of objects/images/artworks.

INSIDE OUT/OUTSIDE IN is a two-part exhibition bringing together MA Fine Art students working across various media including painting, photography, sculpture and sound. INSIDE OUT looks to the inner landscapes of the human mind, body, and soul – drawing upon our personal, political, and spiritual experiences. OUTSIDE IN will explore the opposing or inverted theme, reflecting on how external environments, cultures, and influences manifest not only in our personal practices, but also the spaces within ourselves.

INSIDE OUT includes work by Sophie Huxley, Maja Novak, Catherine Palfreyman, Korrapat Samdoe and Bianca Wallis-Salmon..

This exhibition is available to view from 10:00am - 4:00pm Monday to Friday by appointment only for external visitors. Please email curatorial@leeds-art.ac.uk to make an appointment. Staff and students are not required to make an appointment.
