I studied in the fashion department of the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia as part of the Erasmus+ student mobility programme. The experience has helped me improve skills both individually and professionally.

It was exciting to overcome challenges and encounter new experiences. Studying abroad required me to be very adaptable, patient and communicative. I was able to quickly adjust to a foreign speaking environment and different study structure, which was challenging, but a very useful skill to have. Some of the subjects I undertook were different to those I was familiar with at Leeds Arts University, which was a really interesting experience and gave me a new perspective for future studies or employment.

Erasmus+ has not only been beneficial from an academic perspective, it also gave me the opportunity to broaden my outlook culturally by travelling and engaging with people from many different parts of the world.

I feel much more confident about travelling and finding employment abroad now, as well as communicating with people of different nationalities. The experience has made me feel more independent, and has helped with making decisions about my life after graduating university.

Spending a semester in a different country was a great decision and if given the opportunity, I would gladly take part again. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone!
