Henry Gonnet is the Research Coordinator at Leeds Arts University. His role is to support and enable open research across the University. He provides guidance and training on open research practices, manages research technologies including the Institutional Repository, and helps to foster a culture of transparency and openness in arts research.
Gonnet is one of two Local Network Leaders for the UK Reproducibility Network (UKRN) at Leeds Arts University, and is a co-founder and co-leader UKRN’s Arts Research Special Interest Group. He is a member of the Association of Research Managers and Administrators (ARMA), the UK Committee of Research Repositories (UKCoRR), and the Northern Impact Network (NIN). In 2025, he was an Associate Editor for Exchanges: Interdisciplinary Research Journal’s Special issue on Research Culture, published by the University of Warwick.
Gonnet has completed a BA (Hons) Fine Art at Leeds Arts University (2018) and MFA Fine Art at the BxNU Institute (2020), with a focus on programming and working with generative non-AI computer systems as a means to explore boundaries between chance and control. As an artist, he exhibited his work widely throughout the UK, most notably with BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art (2019, 2020), Durham University (2019), and Abject Gallery (2019).
Gonnet’s research interests are currently focused on meta-research, exploring how arts research operates within the broader research landscape. He also contributes to Learning Returns, a project which explores the experiences of mature students returning to education in the arts.
