Dr Suzi Tibbetts is a Senior Lecturer on BA (Hons) Visual Communication, specialising in three-dimensional design. Suzi is a designer-maker, researcher, and experienced educator, driven by experimental engagement with materials. Her practice investigates the intersection of objects, spaces, and human experience.

Suzi’s background includes a master's degree from the Royal College of Art in Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork and Jewellery, where investigations in value and material exchange shaped her practice and led enquiry through provoking sound pieces and interactive performances. Suzi also has industry experience working in film and TV art departments.

Suzi has a PGCE in Lifelong Learning and her passion for art education led to a PhD exploring the development of the Foundation Course in Art & Design and explorative approaches to art education. She has participated in various projects and roundtable discussions about art education at events and institutions including Tate Britain, Paris College of Art and Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

Working at the intersection of visual communication and community practice, Suzi is a dedicated advocate for accessibility in the arts, with professional experience in community interest company (CIC) development, audience engagement and event management. Her current research explores film exhibition as a physical, communal experience, situated within the broader context of the rise in individualised streaming consumption.
