Orlando Lloyd

BA (Hons) Graphic Design - Lecturer

Orlando Lloyd is a lecturer on the BA (Hons) Graphic Design course. He has worked in educational institutions including Edinburgh College of Art and Glasgow School of Art and with initiatives such as Graphic Design Festival Scotland, Art Link & Edinburgh Science Festival.

After graduating from Edinburgh College of Art, Orlando worked as a designer in studios and agencies across the UK and US. He now maintains a professional graphic design practice working with clients and organisations, primarily in the arts and cultural fields.

Alongside his teaching and freelance practice, Orlando’s research focuses on editorial design and independent publishing. His current research direction examines the future of physical libraries and their shifting role in the modern world. This research is activated through a public facing, self-publishing programme of workshops and events, notably as part of the ‘House That Heals The Soul’ exhibition at The Tetley.

Orlando has recently designed a typeface for artists Peel Eezy, created a visual identity for MAP magazine at the Glasgow International and collaborated with Leeds Arts University lecturer Matthew Hodson, on a book of poems entitled ‘Forwards Always’.
