Foundation Diploma in Art & Design
You are required to have a minimum of 72 UCAS points, which are typically achieved through:
- Pass for UAL Extended Diploma
- MMP for BTEC National Diploma
- A minimum of two A levels (totalling at least 72 UCAS points) or three A levels with minimum grades DDD
You will also need four GCSE’s including English and Maths at grade 4 or above.
Extended Diploma in Art & Design
You should have a minimum of four GCSE passes at Grade C/grade 4 or above, including Maths and English, or an Intermediate GNVQ or Level 2 BTEC First Diploma in Art and Design at merit or above plus GCSE Maths and English at grade C/grade 4 or above. You should also be able to present a portfolio of work which shows your interest and ability in art design and/or technology. This course is only open to applicants between the ages of 16-18 years old.
Level 2 Diploma in Visual Arts and Access to Higher Education in Art & Design
You will be required to show us examples of work which demonstrate your creative side or skills such as drawings, paintings, models, garments or photographs. Students with sufficient experience in art and design may progress directly to the Access to Higher Education course.
If you are 18 or under you must have GCSE Maths and English Language at grade C/grade 4 or above.
If English isn’t your first language you will be required to have met, or have the potential to meet, minimum entry requirements as follows
- For Diploma in Visual Arts: minimum of IELTS 4.5 in all components.
- For Access to HE in Art & Design: Minimum of IELTS 5, with no component below 4.5.
The Level 2 Diploma in Visual Arts and Access to HE in Art and Design are part time and not available to Tier 4 students.
