Foundation Diploma in Art & Design

You are required to have a minimum of 72 UCAS points, which are typically achieved through:

  • Pass for UAL Extended Diploma
  • MMP for BTEC National Diploma
  • A minimum of two A levels or three A levels with minimum grades DDD (totalling at least 72 UCAS tariff points) in addition to;
  • All home applicants must have GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. EU applicants must have a recognised equivalent, and international students must have a minimum IELTS for UKVI overall score of 5.0, with no individual component below 4.5

You will be required to send an e-portfolio of work which shows your interest and ability in art, design and/or technology.


Extended Diploma in Art & Design

This course is only open to applicants between the ages of 16-18 years old.

You must have achieved:

  • An Intermediate GNVQ or Level 2 BTEC First Diploma in Art and Design at merit or above
  • All home applicants must have GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. EU applicants must have a recognised equivalent, and international students must have a minimum IELTS for UKVI overall score of 5.0, with no individual component below 4.5

You should also be able to present a portfolio of work which shows your interest and ability in art, design and/or technology.


Access to Higher Education in Art & Design

You will be required to show us examples of work which demonstrate your creative side or skills such as drawings, paintings, models, garments or photographs. 

If you are 18 or under: 

  • You must have GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. EU applicants must have a recognised equivalent, and international students must have a minimum IELTS overall score of 5.0, with no individual component below 4.5

Applications are welcomed from applicants aged over 18 without formal qualifications.

Access to HE in Art & Design is part-time and not available to Tier 4 students.
