Encouraging ideas and innovation

Encouraging ideas and innovation and developing attributes which students need to thrive

  • To develop the curriculum to ensure it remains relevant in its breadth and scope, particularly in the use of digital technology and the acquisition of transferable, cognitive, and analytical skills.

  • To review the portfolio, recognising the importance of our history but also the opportunities offered by courses which are complementary and enable broader progression and collaboration.

  • To increase collaboration opportunities including with industry, both within and across disciplines.

  • To explore online courses, separate from our main provision, that opens up our specialist creative expertise to a wider market.

  • To develop the Postgraduate framework to enable full-time, part-time, and modular study.

  • To provide employability activities that enable students to secure high-level work and develop the skills of those with entrepreneurial ambitions.

  • To strengthen our alumni community’s engagement with the University and to assist graduates in refreshing or further developing their skills.

  • To ensure our provision is holistically student-centred, builds resilience and enables achievement through careful induction strategies, effective student welfare and support interventions, and clear communication.
