Janine Sykes is the Subject Specialist of MA Curation Practices, and Subject Leader for MA Animation, MA Creature Design, MA Fine Art, MA Graphic Novel and MA Illustration. She studied an MA in Visual Culture at Staffordshire University and a MEd in e-Learning at Hull University. She is currently undertaking a PhD at Sunderland University, titled ‘Blended Curation, placing ‘citizen occupation’ at the centre of participatory, process-based, and new media art’. Janine is developing a new model of Curation, suitable for the contemporary context, involving a blend of participatory strategies. She continues to explore how the exchange of knowledge can be supported online and in-situ through participatory projects which place publics at the centre of mean-making.
