How to book

To confirm that you are coming to the ceremony, firstly book your ticket and guest tickets directly with the University. Then book your gown, hood, hat and photography via specialist graduation company Ede & Ravenscroft.

All graduates will have received an email with links to book their tickets and gown. Please email graduation@leeds-art.ac.uk if you have not received the email.

Ticket booking is open from Tuesday 26 March - Thursday 23 May.

Each graduand is guaranteed their ticket and two guest tickets within the main New Dock Hall if you book by Thursday 23 May.

All tickets are free of charge. Tickets will not be sent in the post but will be available for collection at the Royal Armouries Museum on graduation day.

Extra guest tickets

We understand how important getting extra guest tickets will be to some graduands. To increase guest capacity the ceremony will be live streamed into another room inside the Royal Armouries called the Bury Theatre. All guests will be able to join you before the ceremony and for the celebratory reception after the ceremony.

You can request up to two extra guest tickets and these guests will be seated either in the main hall or in the live stream room. Extra tickets are not guaranteed and will only be confirmed after the booking deadline has passed on Thursday 23 May. Extra guest tickets are limited in quantity and we may not be able to satisfy all requests.

Extra guest tickets are requested on the same booking form you use to book your ticket and the two guaranteed tickets.

Live stream

The graduation will be live streamed on YouTube for guests unable to attend the ceremony.

Book your gown, hood hat and photography

Gown and photography booking is open from Tuesday 26 March - Monday 17 June. Gown hire costs £36.00 and photography packages start from £19.00. Click here to book your gown and photography.

You can either book online at Ede & Ravenscroft or over the phone on 01223 861 854, lines are open Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm. You will need to create an Ede & Ravenscroft account online or over the phone using your full name and student ID number. Your student ID is six numbers long; please do not include your initials.

To attend the graduation ceremony you must wear the gown supplied by Ede & Ravenscroft. Photography is optional but most students do choose to have these once in a lifetime pictures taken.

Dress code

Graduation is a formal occasion so we ask that you dress smartly. You must wear the Leeds Arts University gown to participate in the ceremony. The crimson hood was designed by a BA (Hons) Textile Design graduate and it is completely unique to us. We hope you enjoy wearing it.

You will find it useful to wear a buttoned shirt or blouse to which the academic hood can be fastened. You will probably find that hairgrips are useful to secure your hat. We recommend wearing ‘sensible shoes’, as you will be awarded your degree on stage which is accessed by a number of steps.

Graduation name

Your preferred first name and legal last name will be printed in the ceremony programme and read during the ceremony. Please refer to the email from us to see which name we have on record for you. If you wish to make changes to this please email graduation@leeds-art.ac.uk.

Please be aware that your full legal name is printed on your degree certificate and transcript, and this cannot be changed.

Name pronunciation

Your name will be read out as you are awarded your degree and we would like to pronounce your name to the best of our ability. If you think it will be useful to our speaker, please send us a voice-clip of how to accurately pronounce your name to graduation@leeds-art.ac.uk.

Eligibility

To be eligible to attend the ceremony you need to have successfully completed your undergraduate degree in July 2024.

We understand that we are asking you to book your attendance before you know if you have successfully completed your degree. If you don’t pass your degree in July you will be able to get a full refund on your gown and photography from Ede & Ravenscroft.

If you have extenuating circumstances, a resubmission or wish to defer you will be invited to the winter graduation taking place on Monday 4 November 2024.
