Students win big at Bradford Textile Society Awards

Students from the BA (Hons) Printed Textiles & Surface Pattern Design course have scooped a huge number of prizes and commendations at the Bradford Textile Society Awards 2017/18.

The winning students are listed below:-

THE WORSHIPFUL COMPANY OF DYERS AWARD

Commendation: Lucy Fricker 

THE PRESTIGIOUS TEXTILES LTD AWARD

1st prize: Lucy Siviter (£500 + placement)
3rd prize: Heather Ledbetter-Lyon (£200)
Commendation: Alicia Everett 
Commendation: Rebecca Smickersgill

THE CLOTHWORKER’S COMPANY AWARD

Commendation: Rachel Kozlowski 

THE CLOTHWORKERS COMPANY AWARD

Commendation: Catherine Dixon

1st prize: Emma Carruthers (£500)
2nd prize: Louise Barlow (£300)

THE ASSOCIATION OF FASHION AND TEXTILE COURSES AWARD

Commendation: Lorna Robey

All of the award winners will be presented with certificates and prizes at the Society of Dyers and Colorists’ annual award ceremony on the 11 May. There were over 1000 entries and the society commented of the high standard of work and presentation.

Tami Stewart, Course Leader for BA (Hons) Printed Textiles & Surface Pattern Design, said:

The Bradford Textile Society is the oldest textile society in Britain, if not in the world; we are absolutely thrilled to have won 10 prizes/commendations in total! It is a great testament to just how talented and hardworking our students are.”
