Students showcase work at New Designers

27 June 2018

Graduating students from BA (Hons) Printed Textiles & Surface Pattern Design will showcase their work at the London design exhibition, New Designers, between 27 - 30 June 2018.

Having recently exhibited their work at the University’s end of year show a range of students from the course now have the opportunity to promote themselves and their work, which covers a range of contemporary print solutions, digital design, innovative surfaces and material investigations, to a wider audience, including industry professionals, at New Designers 2018 - the annual UK exhibition for emerging design talent.

The show sees over 3,000 of the most talented, newly graduated designers from the UK's leading universities come together to showcase their work to an audience of over 18,000 visitors at the Business Design Centre, London.

The graduating students have enjoyed a significant amount of success during their final year at Leeds Arts University, including Emily Armitstead who won the Hyundai's Innovators of the Future competition 2018; as well as successes for Agnese Grundmane - IDott wallcovering competition 2018, Emily Rodgers - On the Cards competition, Ester Alonso - Mactac Graphics, Bright Young Things Competition.

Duncan Harrison, Programme Director Fashion & Textiles, commented:

“The course prides itself on the ethos of its graduates, their creative outputs and continued engagement with industry; with opportunities to champion the students as globally engaged and responsive designers who are involved with the wider, professional design community on an international level.”

“New Designers provides our students with another platform on which to promote themselves and gain significant exposure at industry level. It is an important part of the opportunities available to students at the University, and once again the department are pleased to have undertaken additional stands to maximise the number of graduating students having the chance to present at New Designers 2018.”

Students from BA (Hons) Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Design will be at New Designers Part One from 27 – 30 June 2018 at stands T14 and T92.
