Students from the Further Education courses at Leeds Arts University were selected to exhibit at the Origins Creative Arts Festival in London 3 – 5 August 2018.
Extended Diploma in Art & Design student Maya Edwards took home a prize for her piece, Index of Matter. She was highly was praised by the organisers for the “sophisticated and challenging conceptual investigation” shown in her work which she presented as a catalogue of found matter.
Jess Guest, also an Extended Diploma student was also selected for the exhibition, submitting her work Feminism, which documents her understanding of feminism, both at the onset of her project and after a period of research, which resulting in her own feminist manifesto
Foundation Diploma in Art & Design student Nanchalee Waite has also been selected to exhibit for her work Best Before. Nanchalee was also recently awarded runner-up in the Leeds Arts University Sustainability Awards.
Christine Williams who studied on the Level 2 Diploma in Visual Arts is exhibiting her work All the quilts I never made.
Origins Creative Arts Festival gave students studying UAL Awarding Body qualifications the exciting opportunity to see their work exhibited at the Oxo Tower Wharf on London’s South Bank. Find out more here.
