Animations by Leeds Arts University students will be lighting up an historic landmark during the city’s Christmas celebrations.
Leeds Winter Moments will see dazzling artwork projected onto buildings in different locations across the city centre.

As part of the project, a team of BA (Hons) Animation and BA (Hons) Illustration students have been working on the Wagon Lifting Hoist Projection, which will be launched at 6pm tomorrow (Wednesday, 6 December) at the former train lifting tower in the centre of Wellington Place.
Designed to guide people around Leeds city centre while showcasing local creative talent, the projections will be popping up elsewhere in the city centre.
The project is a collaboration between the University, LeedsBID (Business Improvement District), leading property development company MEPC and artistic audio-visual collective Lumen Arts.
It involves creating large-scale outdoor projection animations with a Christmas theme, with the bold, colourful designs then projected onto various locations throughout December.
Andrew Cooper, LeedsBID Chief Executive, said: “LeedsBID has been working with businesses from different areas of the city to bring new animation to the Christmas experience in Leeds.
“It is vital we create special moments for those people who come to Leeds over the festive season - to stay, shop, explore and enjoy the city.”
Leeds Winter Moments, led by Welcome to Leeds, also includes lanterns in Park Plaza, draped white lights on the iconic Queens Hotel and ‘Illuminate Us’ on the Platform Building above Leeds Station.
Attractions returning from last year include SPIRIT flying high in a new location in Victoria Quarter and delicate tree lights in Park Square.
