Student work exhibited at John Lewis & Partners

03 September 2019

Students from BA (Hons) Fashion, BA (Hons) Graphic Design, BA (Hons) Textile Design and BA (Hons) Visual Communication have created work for an in-store exhibition at John Lewis & Partners in Leeds.

For the second year running Leeds Arts University students were invited to submit work to form an exhibition in the store’s loved&found department, a stand-alone boutique showcasing contemporary brands with a Scandinavian twist. This year the students were asked to submit artworks based around their experiences in Leeds: local life, local history, community or inclusion.

Anne Wyman, Events & Marketing Co-ordinator at John Lewis & Partners said:

“The quality of work this year has been extremely high and it has been very difficult to choose the finalists! Each participant earned their place and we can't wait to see the works in situ this summer. It's been an exciting opportunity to display this incredible work and the journey from submitting the brief to seeing their final pieces has been inspiring.”

The loved&found range is a recent concept to John Lewis stores providing a unique space to bring to life the artistic culture in Leeds, displaying work from the University’s students alongside an eclectic mix of beauty, fashion, homeware and gifts.

The exhibition will go on permanent display on the first floor of the Victoria Gate store later in the year to coincide with a special launch event for students and guests.
