Extended Diploma in Art and Design student Louise Claughton has created a piece of art work for office furniture suppliers, Viking Direct.
Louise was selected by Viking to create the ideal office artwork for UK employees. The work was informed by a study involving 1,500 British workers, examining what people want to see in office artworks and how they can benefit staff.
Based on findings that indicated contemporary paintings of wildlife were popular with employees, Louise created her innovative piece. The work incorporates items from Viking’s range and a night scene was chosen to enable the use of colours like greens, pinks and purples in the night sky to create dynamic lighting.
Louise’s submission to Viking is part of an international project, which also involved artists in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, and Italy, creating ideal office artworks for each country.
