Students from BA (Hons) Printed Textiles & Surface Pattern Design have won an impressive number of prizes and commendations at the Bradford Textile Society Awards 2018/19. The course was also presented with The Designers’ Guild Shield, awarded to the University for outstanding work.

Established in 1893, the Bradford Textile Society is the oldest textile society in Britain, and despite all the changes which have taken place in the textile industry since its formation, the Society continues to thrive. The annual design competition, with total prize money of over £14,500, is unique in its breadth of coverage and attracts over 1,000 entries from students throughout the UK.
Lucy Cariss, Jessica Dryden and Mille Rothera all took top place in their categories, whilst eleven other students received commendations across the awards. Lucy and Jessica were also awarded expenses-paid visits to leading trade shows sponsored by The Cotton Industry War Memorial Trust; Lucy will visit Premiere Vision, Paris and Jessica will attend Maison et Objets, Paris later this year.
