Students from the BA (Hons) Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Design degree have scooped a huge haul of prizes and commendations at the Bradford Textile Society Awards 2014/15.
Duncan Harrison, Programme Leader for BA (Hons) Printed Textiles & Surface Pattern Design, said:-
“The Bradford Textile Society is the oldest textile society in Britain, if not in the world; we are absolutely thrilled to have won 25 prizes/commendations in total! It is a great testament to just how talented and hard working our students are.”
The winning students are listed below for each award:-
Worshipful Company of Dyers Award
A printed fashion textile design on any base fabric
1st Prize (£500) Robyn Osborne
3rd Prize (£200) Katie Punton
Commendations:-
Philippa Layzell, Ashley Rowe, Aimee Simm and Jessica Taylor.
Prestigious Textiles Award
A textile design suitable for domestic curtains, upholstery, cushions and blinds, drawn in repeat
Commendations:-
Laura Barrowclough, Sophie Clarke, Hannah Edmonds, Sophie Rolley and Caitlin Savin.
Clothworkers' Foundation Award
For 1st year students only - a printed textile design for either fashion or interiors which shows creative potential
2nd Prize (£200) Laura Stothard
Commendations:-

Clothworkers' Foundation Award
A fabric for either fashion or interiors which shows an innovative combination of textile processes
1st Prize (£500) Megan Wade
2nd Prize (£300) Stephanie Randell
Commendations:-

Clothworkers' Foundation Award
A material construction for either fashion or interior products produced by non-conventional processes or new technologies

Association of Fashion & Textile Courses Award
A fashion fabric for a specific fashion collection

In addition to these prizes they also won:-
THE DESIGNERS’ GUILD PLAQUE for best in show for the College... and 2nd year student, Megan Wade won THE LUXURY FABRICS LTD AWARD and TRAVEL AWARD, a travel bursary to Paris in September.
