Janine Sykes, Postgraduate Co-ordinator, MA in Curation Practices, and Senior Lecturer, BA (Hons) Creative Advertising has contributed an essay for the Mary Quant exhibition at the V&A.
Janine curated OUTSIDE Collett Dickenson Pearce at the University in 2015, exploring the creative achievements of alumni Colin Millward (1924-2004) and Ron Collins, and their work at the agency Collett Dickenson and Pearce. This was the first Creative Advertising exhibition held in the University gallery, and received the attention of national and trade press.
As a result of her research, Janine was asked by a curator of the V&A to write an essay on CDP and Mary Quant for their upcoming exhibition. The essay can be read in full in the exhibition catalogue which is available here.
