Leeds skyline artwork showcased in modern office complex

05 October 2017

Artwork by BA (Hons) Illustration student Janice Leung featuring landmarks of the Leeds skyline has been given pride of place at 5 Wellington Place.

Over 12 months, work by four Leeds Arts University students is being displayed at the
office and retail development, which houses companies including Willis Towers Watson, Ward Hadaway and MEPC.

Students from across the University were invited to submit their best creative entries to be in with a chance of having their art showcased in the reception area of the building, which opened in July last year at the junction of Northern Street and Whitehall Road.

James Dipple, CEO of MEPC said: “It’s great that Wellington Place can support other institutions in the city and help to showcase local talent. We hope this can be a platform from which artists are inspired to pursue this as a career.

“So far we’ve received some really positive feedback from those that have been lucky enough to see the installation, and I’m confident that the ones to follow will also receive the same reception. Each piece captures something different and it showcases the region in a really great light.”
