Students and alumni from BA (Hons) Animation took part in the animation festival, FÊTE DE L’ANIM’ 2017, held in Lille from 31 March – 2 April.
The annual animation festival has been running since 2004 and is dedicated to the production of animated image, films, video games and the digital arts. Three current students and one alumnus from Leeds College of Art attended, supported by European and regional funding.
Students Greta Narbutaityte and Gavin Rae took part in the ‘video mapping’ challenge, in which teams of students created an animation which was screened onto the façade of the Lille Opera House.
Alumnus Paul Brough and current student Lauren Williams helped to create the ‘Marathon de l’anim’. 25 teams participated in the challenge to produce 10 seconds of animation in just 36 hours, based on a key image designed by RUN.
Leeds College of Art delegates were among 50 students and professionals, from across Europe and Asia, attending masterclasses, workshops, professional and social events.
