Leeds Arts University is excited to announce Next Gen, our 2023 show which showcases the work of our talented students.
Featuring works of contemporary art, animation, illustration, graphic design, film, fashion, textiles, creative advertising, music, photography and writing, from across fifteen undergraduate courses, the University is delighted to present the work in a show held at Blenheim Walk. Students from across the University’s further education courses will also be showcasing their work at the Vernon Street campus.
The undergraduate show will feature a catwalk event produced by BA (Hons) Fashion Design students, a live show performed by BMus (Hons) Popular Music Performance and BA (Hons) Creative Writing students, and an industry screening for our BA (Hons) Filmmaking students.
The Art Market will be open for visitors to purchase artwork created by students at both the undergraduate and further education shows.

Professor Simone Wonnacott, Vice-Chancellor, said: "Our summer End of Year Shows are always highly anticipated events where we celebrate the diverse range of talent from students across our courses. At our Undergraduate Show this year we will also have art markets, music and creative writing performances, an industry screening for filmmaking, our fashion catwalk show and much more. The summer shows will launch with our Further Education Show in early June, where students will also be selling work with an art market. Congratulations to all of our new graduates and completing further education students, and we hope that our visitors enjoy the work on show as much as we have."
The 2023 show branding was designed by final year BA (Hons) Graphic Design student Tyler McFaul who said: "I am thrilled to see my vision come to life. The show celebrates the fresh talent of the upcoming graduates who are the next generation of creatives going into the industry, and I wanted the branding to reflect that energy and excitement."
When asked about his inspiration for the design, Tyler told us: "I was inspired by the fluidity of shapes and how they can represent the creativity and imagination of the students. This led me to create a series of animated 3D shapes that are both bold and dynamic. The bright colours and strong typographical application complement the theme of the show and emphasise the uniqueness and passion of the students."
