York Council procured her proposal and supported the making of The Greenhouse, which was shown at Leeds Light Night earlier this month and will be illuminating York (near the Minster) for SPARK Illuminating York tonight – 29th October 2014!
SPARK is a trail starting at Duncombe Place tonight, 29 October – Saturday 1 November, 6-10pm. You can see Joanna’s piece at Memorial Gardens, Duncombe Place
The Greenhouse acts as a magic lantern for the edgelands; rural urban arcades reminiscent of city scapes; modern architecture and sacred geometry; progress and flat pack housing. Etched panes reflect back our waste sites on the undervalued edges of our cities. The Greenhouse stands on the edge nearest to the rural/urban ideal, a valued creative scrub waste.
