Graduating students from the BA (Hons) Fine Art take their end-of-year degree show, Departures on tour to London between 7 - 11 July 2016, to exhibit their work as part of the Free Range exhibitions held at The Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane.
Free Range is the annual fine art showcase for emerging artists and creative graduates, giving them the opportunity to show their work on an international level. Attracting visitor numbers to rival the largest art events, the annual Free Range exhibitions present the work of thousands of art and design students.
The Departures exhibition presents work in a range of media, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, installation, drawing and photography. You can see some of the work that will be on display below.
The opening night is on Thursday 7 July, 6pm – 10pm, F Block T2, open to the public. For more info visit Free Range website.
What’s even more exciting about Free Range this year, is that Ella Holland, one of our graduates who is exhibiting with Leeds College of Art has been commissioned by Free Range to do a large mural on the front of The Old Truman Brewery. The mural which is 610cm x 240cm in size is on display at Free Range, Elys Yard until 18 July.
“This year we’ve been looking for ways Free Range exhibitors can help us ‘take over’ the Truman Brewery site - the murals as a great opportunity for interactive work, plus they’re super visible. We chose Ella’s work through her portfolio uploads on the Free Range website – her pieces are so bright and eye-catching, we knew straight away they’d look great on a large scale. Ella was kind enough to create a custom design for the mural and we’re excited to see it in action.” TAYLA BANKS, Free Range
