Figurative Art Now offers new works in a wide range of mediums and gives artists a platform to sell their work. The exhibition covers portraiture, landscape and still life and features works by elected members of the FBA (Federation of British Artists), prize-winners, regular exhibitors, FBA Futures alumni and artists new to the Mall Galleries. Artists were invited to submit their work for entry to the exhibition and were selected by an experienced panel.
Sung Lin Hon won with the entry ‘Studio’. The work is described as: 'Inspired by the layers of light in the painting studio. The work creates a silent emotion in the dim environment. Glazing layers of black built the distance between the viewer and the actual work. It remains quiet and stays humble. Yet, the layers of Venetian-red underneath the painting attempt to break the calmness. Sung Lin's work presents her vision of light and darkness while sustaining the ambiguity within the image.'
