Fashion photography lecturer is published in Vogue Italia

14 February 2019

A body of work by BA (Hons) Fashion Photography Senior Lecturer, Xanthe Hutchinson, has recently been published in Vogue Italia.

Xanthe began looking at the delineation of myth and metamorphosis in classical literature and contemporary culture as part of her MFA in Photography. Using Ovid’s Metamorphoses to underpin the sense of physical transformation in mythological characters and contextualise the same with Foucault’s ‘Bodies’, Myth explores the link between body and landscape by use of personification. The transmutations signify the physical forces of ageing, illness, and invariably death and their subjection of the body.

The work was commissioned by Vogue Italia and has been published online. See the full article here.
